Frequently-Asked (Well, Maybe Sometimes-Asked) Questions
Is Trousers really free?
Yes. Trousers is gladly supplied free of charge to schools purposed to
preach the redemptive gospel of Jesus Christ.
Why is it called "Trousers?"
"Trousers" is an acronym for Tro(pical) U(ser-friendly) Se(minary)
R(eporting) S(ystem). The name reflects the original purpose of
Trousers, which was to address the record-keeping needs of Caribbean
Graduate School of Theology / Jamaica Theological Seminary of Kingston,
Jamaica.
If the software is free, who funds Trousers?
The author does. Expenses are not high. Postage was the
largest but that decreased when Trousers became
downloadable from this web site. Phone, materials, e-mail and web
site costs make up the rest.
Does anyone support Trousers other than the author? Is he under anyone's supervision?
No to both questions, but the author is interested in alternatives that may better serve the cause.
How can I obtain Trousers?
Click here or the [Downloads] link above. That spells it out.
How do I learn to use Trousers?
Trousers screens follow generally-accepted conventions for Windows
applications, so individuals familiar with software such as word
processing or spreadsheets will pick it up easily. The author also suggests reading the first 11-12 pages of the
carefully-written User Manual (author was an English major). And
the author is happy to answer questions.
Is Trousers available for Linux or Apple?
Not for the forseeable future.
